Headlines dominated on the two top dancehall artistes after the two camps were involved in a brawl at the just held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA).
Shatta Wale walked onto the stage to allegedly congratulate his former label mate and competitor Stonebwoy after the latter won Reggae/Dancehall artist of the year award.
However, Shatta Wale walking onto the state was misinterpreted by the Bhim camp which fuelled a fight between both fans.
The brawl got intense that Stonebwoy pulled out a gun to protect himself.
The rift brought about the most prestigious award scheme to a halt for more than 30 minutes before it continued.
Due to the indiscipline act exhibited by the two A-list artists, awards for song of the year and artiste of the year were postponed till further notice.
Shortly after the incident, Sarkodie in a series of tweets talked about how the gap between the corporate world and the entertainment industry and that it has always been his dream that the two merged.
He wrote :
” For a long time there’s been this gap between the corporate world and the entertainment industry and it’s been my dream that the two merge cos it’s very necessary!!!”
In another tweet, the most decorated Ghanaian artiste stated that it is eminent that himself and fellow artists, as well as industry players, work to make their relationship better with the corporate world.
“When I sit in these corporate meetings I sense how sensitive it is for them to affiliate with the industry and I understand But that doesn’t stop us from working to make our relationship better”
